and laugh-out-loud storytelling that provides sometimes
personal, often universal perceptions on the Twin Cities
boldest visual art.”
— Camille Lefevre, Metro Magazine
“I came here for the reading
— and had the opportunity to enjoy the art.”
“I liked how the art and readings worked together.”

TIC
readings take place at Twin Cities galleries
that exhibit the work of contemporary visual artists. TalkingImageConnection
teams up with these galleries to curate readings in response
to specific gallery shows.
For each reading, TIC chooses a group of writer-performers
who use the theme and artwork in the gallery as prompts for
their own creative writing.
Writers perform their work in front of, next to, behind or
in the middle of the artwork that inspired them. Audiences
follow the readers from artwork to artwork and are provided
with a script of the evening’s performance.
A TIC reading is an irreverent, fun, challenging
interaction with the visual art around it.
